Singapore Sling Cocktail Recipe

The Singapore Sling is said to have originated at the Long Bar of the iconic Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Note that many recipes call for pineapple juice instead of soda water but this is my preferred version (and is often referred to as a Straits Sling).

Singapore Sling Cocktail Recipe

Glass: Highball
Garnish: Orange slice and a maraschino cherry

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) dry gin 
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) Heering cherry liqueur 
  • 0.25 oz (7.5 ml) Benedictine
  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) lemon juice
  • 0.25 oz (7.5 ml) grenadine
  • 1 dash of Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash of orange bitters
  • 2 oz (60 ml) soda water

Method:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients except soda water
  2. Shake with ice for 10-12 seconds
  3. Strain over ice into a highball glass
  4. Top with soda water
