First recorded in David Embury’s 1948 book The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks. It was supposedly created to honor the centuries old football game between the United States army and naval academies.
Army & Navy Cocktail Recipe
Glass: Coupe
Garnish: Grapefruit twist
Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60 ml) dry gin
- 1 oz (30 ml) lemon juice
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) orgeat
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
Method:
- In a cocktail shaker, add all the ingredients
- Shake with ice for 10-12 seconds
- Double strain into a chilled coupe glass
