Gin Basil Smash

A modern classic created by the owner of the Le Lion bar in Germany, Joerg Meyer. Previously named the Gin Pesto.

Glass: Old fashioned
Garnish: Basil sprig

• 10 basil leaves
• 2 oz (60 ml) Mediterranean gin
• 1 oz (30 ml) lemon juice
• 22.5 oz (22.5 ml) simple syrup

Method:

1. In a cocktail shaker, add all the ingredients
2. Shake with ice for 10-12 seconds
3. Double strain over ice into an old fashioned glass
