Martini

Mediterranean Martini
No cocktail is better suited to olives than a dirty martini. We’ve mixed up our recipe by replacing the dry vermouth with dry sherry.

Method: stirred and strained
Glassware: nick and nora / small cocktail coupe

INGREDIENTS

  • 70ml Mediterranean gin
  • 10ml dry manzanilla sherry or quality dry vermouth
  • 5ml green olive brine
  • 3 large green olives or one green olive and rosemary sprig

METHOD

  1. Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass
  2. Fill mixing glass with ice and stir for 12 seconds and immediately strain into your cocktail glass
  3. Place your garnish olives onto a skewer and into the drink

BARTENDERS NOTES
Key components to making a good martini are as follows, temperature of the cocktail, quality of the gin and an appropriate level of dilution, a pro tip is to keep the gin, cocktail glass and the mixing glass in the freezer to help keep the temperature and dilution balanced. If you keep those fundamentals in mind, you don't have to worry about having the shake vs stir argument.
