Tom Collins Cocktail Recipe

The Tom Collins was first seen in Jerry Thomas’ The Bartender’s Guide in 1876.

Glass: Highball
Garnish: Lemon wedge

  • 2 oz (60 ml) barrel aged gin 
  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) lemon juice 
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) simple syrup
  • 2 oz (60 ml) soda water 

Method:

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add all ingredients except the soda water
  2. Shake with ice for 10-12 seconds
  3. Double strain into a chilled highball glass
  4. Top with soda water
